Fitbit Charge 6
A major part of the Fitbit app has been given a redesign, in what is becoming a bit-by-bit overhaul of the entire platform.
The Health Metrics part of the Fitbit interface has a new look, as spotted by 9to5Mac.
Published screenshots show the Fitbit team hasn’t messed with the basics too much, but has put some solid work into improving the readability of the stats section.
Stat charts, which could often seem a bit unloved in the old Fitbit style, have greater prominence. And the key numbers are a lot larger now.
The old style had an odd combo of not having that clear a spotlight on anything while also not packing all that much into each screen. Fitbit hasn’t gone overboard with information density, but has improved that you might call “glanceability.”
The way to see data over longer periods of time than that very day lives one layer below, though, requiring an additional tap to access.
I’m not currently using Fitbit to track my exercise, but the redesign is reportedly already out on iPhone and is in the process of rolling out to Android.

This metrics revamp follows a redesign of the water-tracking section of the app, which happened a little under two weeks earlier.
Quick off the mark Fitbit fans who have already tested out the new interface are mostly — you guessed it — not too happy with the changes.
“I absolutely hate this stupid new layout that NO ONE asked for,” wrote Reddit user MuscaMurum.
DiscombobulatedHat19 isn’t a fan either, writing “It’s so stupid as why spend effort to change it when the new version is so obviously worse.”
One other parts of the Fitbit interface due for a redesign is the food-logging section, which at current pace may get a new look in April.
