FKA Twigs Postpones North American ‘Eusexua’ Shows Due to Visa Issues

Less than two weeks after kicking off her Eusexua tour in Paris, FKA Twigs took to social media to announce that dates in Chicago, Toronto, and New York would need to be postponed after her production team failed to complete the proper paperwork for their visas.

The artist said that while the tour in the U.K. and Europe has been “absolutely incredible” and she feels “so grateful to be just a part of such an amazing creative process,” it has been “challenging with production and just, the more practical sides of putting this tour together” behind the scenes.

“Today I was informed that production did not fill out the correct paperwork in a timely manner for us to have our visas to come to the USA and perform,” she explained in a TikTok video posted Tuesday. “By no choice of my own I will have to pull out of my New York, Chicago, and Toronto shows.”

Twigs was set to perform in Chicago on March 26-27, Toronto on March 30-31, and a pair of shows in New York City on April 3-4. Four of the five dates have already been rescheduled: the Chicago dates have been rescheduled to June 24 and 25 at the Salt Shed and her shows in New York at the Knockdown Center will take place April 23 and 24. The Toronto date is expected to be rescheduled soon.

“For those of you who are wondering why I have to pull out of Toronto because it’s not part of the United States, it’s because of routing and just the complex beast that touring is,” she continued. “I don’t take this lightly. I’m completely devastated, to be honest with you. Completely heartbroken. All I want to do is be there with you and bring Eusexua to you.”

Twigs added that she was “looking into how and why this happened,” and that information on rescheduled dates would be released soon.

“I can’t wait to bring Eusexua to you. It’s truly been one of the greatest achievements of my life. It’s been this amazing, incredible, spiritual, enlightening whirlwind, and all I want is to be with you and be performing with you. So I’m truly devastated,” she said, before promising, “I’m going to come to you harder, stronger than ever.”

Twigs released Eusexua in January. In a Rolling Stone review praising the album, music editor Julyssa Lopez writes that the “metamorphosis on Eusexua is fitting for Twigs, a natural shape-shifter who never quite does what’s expected — and this is the latest in a list of intriguing evolutions.”

This article was updated on March 26 at 12:05 p.m. to include the rescheduled dates.
