Days before “A Minecraft Movie” makes its silver screen debut, fans of the popular video game franchise will be able to celebrate its release with two-themed meals, a spicy new sauce and more at McDonald’s.
The fast food chain is “bringing the game’s cinematic world” to restaurants nationwide on April 1 with the release of a “Minecraft” movie themed meal and Happy Meal inspired by fans’ imagination and love for the Golden Arches.
Both meals, available for a limited time, also come with access to digital experiences, six custom-designed collectibles or toys upon purchase.
Here’s what to know about McDonald’s “Minecraft” movie meals and perks, including more about the new sauce.
‘A Minecraft Movie’ meal, Nether Flame Sauce
Customers can choose between two versions of the “Minecraft” movie meal, which includes medium fries, drink, a limited-edition collectible and your choice of a Big Mac or a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets.
The 10-piece Chicken McNuggets meal option comes with the Nether Flame Sauce, a limited-edition spicy but sweet sauce. The sauce is made with crushed red pepper and flaming cayenne, balanced with hints of garlic and sweetness.
‘A Minecraft Movie’ collectibles, digital perks
The “Minecraft” themed meal isn’t the only perk.
Customers can get one of 12 Block World toys, or one of six exclusive collectibles inspired by some of McDonald’s most beloved characters, menu items and popular “A Minecraft Movie” treasures, depending on the meal ordered.
The collectible included with each regular meal features a matching card and a code that customers can redeem to unlock the corresponding, exclusive skin in the Minecraft Marketplace.

Here are the six characters you may find inside your bag:
- Big Mac Crystal: Mined from the sea of special sauce, this precious block derives its radiant shine from melty cheese and a toasty sesame seed bun.  Â
- Birdie Wings: Keep your eye to the sky or you might miss the early bird soaring high above the clouds with a rare pair of elytra wings.  Â
- Fry Helmet: Forged from the iconic French Fry box, this enchanted helmet is rumored to protect you from friends stealing your last Fry.  Â
- Grimace Egg: Emerging from the depths of a purple shake, this magical Grimace mob gets its shape from the most coveted egg of them all.  Â

- Zombie Hamburglar: Little is known about this hungry mob who spawns late at night and wanders all biomes in search of hamburgers.Â
Every “A Minecraft Movie” Meal purchased on the McDonald’s app also gives customers an in-game bonus at no extra cost.
