SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah men’s basketball team looks to close out the homestand on a strong note and extend its home win-streak to four as it plays host to Kansas State this Monday, Feb. 17, starting at 7 p.m. (MST) on ESPN2.
Roxy Bernstein returns to The Hill to call the action alongside former UCLA Bruin Sean Farnham as the Runnin’ Utes look to sweep the Kansas schools on Monday when it squares off against the Wildcats.
ONE FOR THE BOOKS
With 1:58 left to go, Utah guard Gabe Madsen drilled his 288th career 3-pointer to break the school’s all-time record that was once held by Nick Jacobson (287; 2000-04). The Rochester, Minn., product had already hit four triples from deep with 7:07 remaining in the first half hitting his fifth and record-breaking 3-pointer. Madsen will continue to add to his new record with six remaining in the regular-season.

ADVANTAGE, UTES
Utah took advantage of Kansas’ miscues on Saturday, turning 12 turnovers into a 22-7 edge in points off turnovers. The 22 points off turnovers accounted for 29.7-percent of Utah’s offense.
The Utes also dominated the glass against the Jayhawks to the tune of 46-36 in overall rebounds, but most importantly, it was the 16-6 difference on the offensive glass – which Utah turned in 14 points.
SOPHOMORES MAKING STRIDES
Utah’s sophomores have been slowly improving as the season has gone on. In the last five games, Jake Wahlin is averaging 8.2 points and 6.4 rebounds while shooting .500 (15-of-30) from the field. His 8.2 points average is third-most on the squad in that stretch while his 6.4 boards per game is tied for the team-lead.
Keanu Dawes has also continued to make steady incline the last five games, averaging 6.4 points and 6.4 rebounds with a .556 shooting clip. Meanwhile, the 6-9 forward has pulled down a team-high 11 offensive boards during this five-game stretch.

Through games on Feb. 15, Gabe Madsen’s eight 3-pointers at Cincinnati is tied for third-most in a single-game this season between Power 4 teams.

UP NEXT
Utah will now get some extra days off before embarking on its second and final long road swing of the year. The Runnin’ Utes will head to Orland, Fla., next weekend to battle the UCF Knights on a rare Sunday (Feb. 23) tip-off inside Addition Financial Arena. LOOKING AHEAD
Utah will get a short turnaround as it travels across the country to battle #13/13 Arizona on Wednesday, Feb. 26, inside McKale Center as the two former Pac-12 foes face off as members of the Big 12 Conference. Pete Sousa will be on the call with former Stanford Cardinal head coach Jerrod Haase starting at 7 p.m. (MST) on ESPN+ as the Runnin’ Utes search for their first win in Tucson since Dec. 6, 1986, a 68-67 affair over an Arizona team that was ranked 20th in the country.
