After years of delays, P.F. Chang’s first Delaware location finally has an opening date – and it’s sooner than you may think.

The chain announced its plans to open in the former Panera Bread space in the Christiana Mall over two years ago, and since then word on its official opening has been sparse.

At last, signage has been posted announcing that the long-awaited restaurant will open its doors later this month.

P.F Chang’s to open in Christiana Mall this month

According to displays on the front of the P.F. Chang’s door, the restaurant will open to the public on Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 4 p.m.

This date was confirmed by Steven Chambliss, Christiana Mall’s senior general manager.

Hours for the site have yet to be made public, but most locations are open from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. every day.

This will be Delaware’s first P.F. Chang’s location and will include a mix of seated and to-go options for customers, including patio and outdoor seating.

P.F. Chang’s is known for its Asian fusion cuisine, Mongolian beef and sesame chicken meals, as well as its well-loved lettuce wraps. All meals are made from scratch and use traditional Chinese wok cooking, according to the website.

Happy hour deals also are available at some locations Monday to Friday from 4:30 p.m. until 7 p.m.

Christiana Mall’s location was first confirmed in November of 2022, with an opening originally slated for some time in 2023.

After more than a year of stagnant progress, its opening date was then pushed to early 2024, and then late 2024. Finally, spokespeople for the restaurant confirmed to DelawareOnline / The News Journal that it would open in “winter,” but details were not made available.

According to P.F. Chang’s website, the Christiana location is hiring for kitchen and front-of-house positions.
