NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — WGNO was live in New Orleans’ Jackson Square to ring in the New Year and the 91st annual Allstate Sugar Bowl happening on Jan. 1.
Good Morning New Orleans anchors LBJ and Amy Russo are kicked off the coverage on WGNO.com as the annual parade brought in the Georgia Bulldogs and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Mardi Gras style.
The parade featured several NOLA dance groups, school bands city officials and much more parading through the French Quarter starting at 2 p.m.
The event began at the corner of Elysian Fields and Decatur Street, traveled along the Mississippi River, past the Old U.S. Mint, French Market, Cafe du Monde and Jackson Square, ending on Canal Street.

The rebroadcast will happen on New Year’s Day at 9 a.m. on WGNO-TV ABC 26, and kickoff for the 91st annual Sugar Bowl is set for 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 1.
