MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) – The Minnesota Vikings had an off day for Christmas on Wednesday, and like all of us probably spent the day with their families.
Vikings’ safety Cam Bynum spent at least some time leading up to Christmas going undercover as a Christmas caroler. He was with the acapella group “Careless Vibez.”
Did anyone figure it out?
What happened: Bynum joined in as the fifth member of the group as they went around to various Twin Cities homes. They also dropped off gifts at each home they sang at. They had someone with a cell phone taking video to post to social media. It appears none of the homeowners they sang to realized it was Bynum, the Vikings’ safety, and he blended in enough with the group.
The celebration specialist
Why it matters: On the football field, Bynum is one of the ring leaders for the Vikings’ defense when they generate a turnover, specifically interceptions. He’s been a busy man as a choreographer – the Vikings lead the NFL with 22 interceptions.
Last week, they did a dance from the Disney musical “Camp Rock.” Also this season, he’s reincarnated Australian Olympic break dancer Raygun, done the Parent Trap handshake and done a chance from the movie, “White Chicks.”
If there’s another celebration planned Sunday, they’ll have to get a turnover from Jordan Love.
Critical match-up Sunday
What we know: The Vikings host the Packers on Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium in the regular season home finale. The Vikings need to win their final two games to earn the No. 1 seed in the NFC Playoffs, a first round bye and home field. If they lose their last two and the Packers win their last two, Green Bay would jump to the No. 5 seed in the NFC via tiebreaker. If the Vikings beat the Packers, they can do no worse than the No. 5 seed.
