NC performers ready to shine at Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in NYC :: WRAL.com

Four central North Carolina organizations
will be performing in this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Those groups are Holly Springs School
of Dance, Legacy Dance Productions, Hillsborough Cheer and Dance and a student
of Clinton High School.

Holly Springs School of Dance has
been performing in the parade every three years since 2003 and for some of
their dancers, this will be their second opportunity.

Senior dance student, Kyra Lewis, is
looking forward to performing for another year.

“It’s really special to see my
growth as a dancer through this performance opportunity, especially in New York
City,” Lewis said.

The dancer’s routines are hip-hop,
and performance based, all with intricate moves and the rehearsals are tedious
because the Macy’s parade is a lot different than their regular recitals.

“At Macy’s, they change a lot of stuff,
and you have to be prepared for all that they have.” Lewis said.

Clinton Highschool will have their
first student performing in the parade this year. Senior Bailey Waters will be marching
with The Macys Great American marching band.

“We are incredibly proud of Bailey
and her accomplishments,” said Geoffrey Tart, director of bands at Clinton High
School.

Be sure to check out the dancers
and the marching band on Thanksgiving Day during the Macy’s parade on WRAL.
