Fantasy Football Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Week 12: Drake Maye, Rhamondre Stevenson

The New England Patriots have been one of the worst teams in football this year, posting a 3-8 record through their first 11 weeks of the season.

Offensively, they’ve seen a bit of an uptick since veteran starting quarterback Jacoby Brissett was benched in favor of the rookie first-round pick, Drake Maye.

Maye has helped New England stay in games, but they’ve still won just one game in which he’s played the majority of the snaps.

Patriots fans haven’t had much to look forward to other than the few games where running back Rhamondre Stevenson has asserted his dominance.

In Week 12, Fantasy Football owners shouldn’t be considering many players on New England’s roster for their lineups, but if there’s an injury or a bye week, they may have to. Should fantasy owners use either Maye or Stevenson in Week 12 as the Patriots visit the Miami Dolphins? Let’s discuss.

Fantasy Football Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Week 12: Drake Maye

While Maye has been exciting to watch, he hasn’t been putting up eye-popping numbers. In his five full games, he’s averaged 17.17 fantasy points, which wouldn’t make him a startable quarterback in most leagues this year.

Considering Maye will still be throwing to subpar weapons, and Miami’s defense has allowed the third-fewest fantasy points per game (12.3) to opposing quarterbacks, it might be a good idea to look elsewhere this week.

Verdict: Sit ‘Em

Stevenson was rewarded with a massive contract extension this offseason, but he’s been frustratingly inconsistent this year. In his 10 games this season, he’s gone under 10 points four times, making him a fringe starting running back in Fantasy Football.

While the Dolphins have allowed the ninth-most fantasy points (19.9) to opposing running back rooms this season, until Stevenson can prove that he’s a consistent threat, it’s tough to count on him each week.

Verdict: Sit ‘Em
