DC’s Lanterns rumored to be an ‘ongoing series’ with Season 2 in works
Renowned Hollywood insider Jeff Sneider disclosed that Season 2 of DC’s Lanterns will happen, based on what his source revealed.
During the brand new episode of his podcast, ‘THE HOT MIC’, Sneider and co-host John Rocha were discussing DC’s future release plans. The former made the revelation and revealed that the information was shared by his source. Sneider stated, “Lanterns is going to be an ongoing series by the way. I’m told it’s gonna have a Season 2.”
However, this is just a rumor and there is no update from DC co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran regarding this.
The official first look of Pierre and Chandler’s Green Lanterns, John Stewart and Hal Jordan, was shared recently. Posting the image on X (formerly Twitter), Gunn wrote, “Excited that #Lanterns is now in production. DC Studios’ new show for @HBO and Max, from creators Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, & @TomKingTK , starring Kyle Chandler & Aaron Pierre, is something really special.”
Furthermore, recently Gunn and Safran were present at a DC event where they shared an update regarding Lanterns. As per Screen Rant, James Gunn revealed that the series has “just started shooting with HBO and Warner Brothers.” He further teased a connection between Lanterns and the upcoming movie Superman. Gunn conveyed, “It’s really so cool because it is connected to Superman because we’ve got Guy Gardner in that, and then we’ve got these green lanterns over here. It’s just such a different tone from what Superman is.”
