The second annual “Jeopardy!” Invitational Tournament, which brings back veterans of the game, continues Monday, with a return appearance by a “Jeopardy!” standout from Portland.
The Feb. 24 episode players include Avi Gupta, a graduate of Catlin Gabel school, who won the “Jeopardy!” Teen Tournament in 2019. Gupta also played in the “Jeopardy!” High School Reunion Tournament, in 2023, where he made it to the semifinals.
Tonight, Gupta will play again in a quarterfinals round, along with fellow “Jeopardy!” returnees Amy Schneider, a writer from Oakland, California; and Luigi de Guzman, an attorney from Arlington, Virginia.
Gupta is attending law school at Yale University, in New Haven, Connecticut.
The ultimate champion in the “Jeopardy!” Invitational Tournament will win $150,000, and receive an invitation to compete in the 2025 “Jeopardy! Masters” tournament. Vancouver’s Yogesh Raut finished second in the 2024 edition of the “Masters” competition.
“Jeopardy!” airs at 7 p.m. weekdays on KATU-TV.
