Get To Know: Sarah Wren – Auburn Tigers


AUBURN, Ala – The top-ranked Auburn equestrian team has welcomed 22 new faces to the squad in 2024-25 and it’s time to get to know them!

Our final feature is Sarah Wren!

Class: Graduate Student
Hometown: Suffolk, Virginia
Discipline: Jumping Seat

Q: What made you want to go to Auburn? 
A: “Auburn felt like home from the second I stepped on campus. You could tell just by walking around that Auburn people loved Auburn, and I knew I had to be a part of it!”

Q: You graduated with your degree in May and are working on your master’s. What was your undergraduate degree and what are you studying now? What do you hope to do after school?
A: “I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences, and am pursuing my master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology. After grad school, I plan to be a pediatric speech-language pathologist.”

Q: What is your favorite Auburn tradition and why?  
A: “My favorite tradition is rolling Toomer’s Corner! Seeing the Auburn family celebrate big after a win is so much fun and brings me so much joy!”

Q: How long have you been riding horses and what was the name of your first horse?  
A: “I’ve been riding since I was six years old, and my first horse’s name is Sailor.”

Q: What has been your favorite riding memory throughout your entire time with the sport? 
A: “I did IEA in middle and high school, and my team won nationals in 2019. Being a part of that experience is something I won’t soon forget!”

Q: What is it like joining the team after your freshman year?
A: “Joining the team this year has been the greatest gift. My teammates were so welcoming and immediately made me feel included!”

Q: Where is your favorite place to be on campus or around Auburn and why?
A: “There’s nothing like being on Samford Lawn on a sunny day! Seeing students or people in the community out enjoying our beautiful campus puts the biggest smile on my face.”

Q: What is your favorite Auburn sport to go to and why?
A: “I love Auburn football games, particularly when they end at Toomer’s!”

Q: What are some hobbies that you like to do outside of riding? 
A: “I love reading, traveling, and am learning how to knit.”

Q: What is your favorite trip you have taken or your dream trip that you want to take?  
A: “This past summer, I lived in London and got to travel to eight different countries across Europe!”

Q: What is your favorite home cooked meal and what makes it so special?  
A: “My mom’s chicken poppyseed casserole. No matter how many times I try I can’t make it as good as hers!”

Q: If you could have any actor portray you in a movie, who would it be any why?
A: “Lily James, just because I like her a lot.”
