The most anticipated TV shows of 2025
USA TODAY TV critic Kelly Lawler shares her top 5 TV shows she is most excited for this year
A new episode of the police procedural “S.W.A.T.” will premiere this week after a brief winter break.
The action-drama has faced a rollercoaster to get to Season 8, having been canceled after Season 6, picked back up for a limited episode run for Season 7 and finally getting the green light for a full 22-episode run for the current season, which premiered Oct. 18.
While Season 7 wrapped up a lot of loose ends thanks to writers thinking it would be their last, Season 8 still managed to give viewers an exciting lineup of episodes in Season 8’s first half, with Dec. 13’s Episode 8 leaving off on a cliffhanger in which multiple of the core “S.W.A.T.” team were in dire straights.
After a recess, the show is back this week with Episode 9. Here’s what to know.
When does ‘S.W.A.T.’ Season 8 Part 2 premiere?
